An international foods giant appealed to Agility for help when a massive shipment of Brazilian coffee bound for Greece was stuck in transit in port at Valencia, Spain. Agility made plans to truck the shipment to Greece, despite a growing shortage of drivers caused by virus-related EU border restrictions and the impending Easter holiday. The cargo was originally to be moved to Greece by a competitor as ocean freight. Instead, Agility teams quickly coordinated customs clearance, equipment pickup, and depot release of six 20-foot containers, and moved the cargo by truck to Italy, then transferred it to a ferry service for onward shipment to Greece. It arrived a day ahead of schedule at the roasting and packaging plant, which was nearly out of inventory and would have had to halt production.
