Working with new and existing clients, Agility arranged five Boeing 777 charters from Shanghai to Montreal, supplying the Canadian market with more than 15 million face masks. The charters required close collaboration across the Agility network to mitigate risk. The primary concern was congestion in Shanghai, where at times there was a 36-40 hour queue to enter the terminal. The fluid regulatory environment for PPE exports and an extended labor holiday presented added challenges.
Agility worked with charter clients to manage the rapidly evolving situation, opening the Shanghai warehouse so that a client could re-pack its consignment on Agility premises, and working to achieve export compliance on short notice. In a separate case, Agility secured the fastest available charter when cargo was halted at the terminal for a physical inspection and missed the original flight. Agility’s Customs department ensured compliance, expediting clearance and entry into Canada.
