Agility Kazakhstan recently received X-ray machines and equipment weighing 96,860 kg from the United States for donation to six Kazakh defense outposts. The cargo consisted of Rapiscan X-ray machines and related gear donated by the U.S. government. The shipments required the chartering of an Antonov 124 aircraft and three Ilyushin 76 charters, which were used to fly the cargo into the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan. At Nur-Sultan, Agility secured out-of-gauge road permits and handled lashing/securing, positioning of low-bed trailers for loading at the airport, and haulage to the outposts, the most remote being 1,500 km from Nur-Sultan. At the destinations, Agility positioned cranes and directed the movement of the cargo. Teamwork between Agility’s Global Integrated Logistics and Defense & Government Services groups was critical to the success of the project.
